Standardized Testing

Accredited Colleges use the SAT and ACT as entrance exams by evaluating your knowledge and abilities in a variety of subject areas. The SAT tests reading, mathematics, and writing, whereas the ACT tests English, math, reading, science, and writing. It’s recommended that you take your standardized test of choice more than once because students usually score better the second time around. It’s important to prepare for these exams, so getting a study guide is an excellent idea. Each testing company produces their own guide (in book form); there are many other study books and sources online to help with test prep as well. It’s best to start with the website for the test you want to take because each provides a plethora of information.

ACT

Financial Aid

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is an excellent source of financial aid for attending post-secondary schools. However, it’s important to inquire with any school that you wish to attend to determine whether or not they will allocate federal aid since you are graduating from a private, non-accredited high school.
